After serving as Peace Corps Volunteers in Brazil, Jon and Margaret Scott became Nazarene missionaries. They served in Portugal, the Azores, Romania, Mozambique and Malawi, focusing their ministry on the development and empowerment of local leadership. As they moved to the States from their last assignment in Africa, God made it clear to them that the next place of service would be Seattle! The Washington Pacific District welcomed the Scotts to Western Washington by appointing them Missionaries-in-Residence. They spent months speaking in churches around the district about of the cause of Nazarene Education in Africa.
Living Hope Nazarene had also welcomed the Scotts as speakers. Jon became interim pastor at Living Hope and then accepted the call from the church board and the vote of the church to become lead pastor at Living Hope. Margaret serves as Associate Pastor of Education and Development and still serves in district assignments as well.
The Scotts envision the equipping and empowering of everyone in the congregation toward reaching their “full measure in Christlikeness” (Ephesians 4). Striving for “Unity in the Community,” they engage weekly with activities in the broader community of Normandy Park, Des Moines, SeaTac, Burien and White Center. Jon and Margaret Scott welcome you to Living Hope Church of the Nazarene.
A Seattle native, Pastor Regina has returned to Seattle after living in Vancouver, BC for the past four years. She grew up attending Beacon Hill Church of the Nazarene. While in Vancouver, she served as both associate interim pastor and ministry coordinator for youth and families. She recently completed a Master in Divinity at Regent College and is excited about working alongside Pastors Jon and Margaret Scott at Living Hope Church, serving the youth and helping to coordinate outreach opportunities. She is passionate about building up the church to live missionally both locally and globally.
